The Issue

We, the undersigned, respectfully request the cancellation of ABC’s daytime talk show, “The View.” Our concerns stem from the show’s consistent dissemination of false narratives, propagation of divisive content, and its role as a partisan propaganda platform, all of which contribute to the polarization of our nation.

Promotion of False Narratives

“The View” has a documented history of presenting misleading information. Notably:

• In 2015, co-hosts Michelle Collins and Joy Behar mocked Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson, for her monologue about nursing, questioning her use of a “doctor’s stethoscope.” This incident displayed a lack of understanding and respect for the nursing profession, leading to backlash from healthcare professionals nationwide.

• In 2018, Joy Behar equated Vice President Mike Pence’s Christian faith to “mental illness,” a statement that was met with widespread criticism for its insensitivity toward religious beliefs.

Contribution to National Division

The show’s content often exacerbates political and social divides:

• Meghan McCain, a former co-host, described “The View” as “the most dramatic show on the planet,” highlighting an environment filled with constant conflict and partisan bias.

• ABC News executives have reportedly sought to introduce pro-Trump voices to balance the show’s anti-Trump stance, indicating a recognition of its current lack of ideological diversity.

Functioning as a Propaganda Platform

The program frequently advances specific political agendas without adequate representation of opposing viewpoints:

• The show’s liberal bias has led to a lack of diverse political perspectives, limiting constructive discourse and reinforcing echo chambers.

• Discussions often devolve into partisan attacks rather than fostering meaningful conversations, undermining the potential for viewers to form well-rounded opinions.

In light of these issues, we believe that “The View” no longer serves its intended purpose of providing informative and balanced discussions. Instead, it contributes to misinformation and societal division. We urge ABC to consider canceling “The View” and replacing it with programming that upholds journalistic integrity, promotes unity, and fosters constructive dialogue.
