We, the undersigned enthusiasts, formally request that BMW M produce the E46 M3 CSL Edition Plus for a limited period of 24 months, faithful in design, engineering, and driving character.

We are not requesting a modern reinterpretation or an inspired model. We are asking for the exact E46 M3, with the spirit and focus of the CSL. The same proportions, the same naturally aspirated inline six engine, and the same analog driving experience that made it one of the most respected performance cars ever built.

When the E46 M3 was originally produced, many of us were too young or not yet financially capable of purchasing one. Today, that same generation is now established in their professional careers, with both the means and the intent to own this car, new.

We understand modern regulatory requirements. If necessary, minimal updates may be applied strictly for safety compliance, emissions compliance, and reliability improvements. Where possible, these should be implemented in a driver configurable way so the car can retain its pure mechanical character when desired, without altering the engine character, the weight and balance, the driving feel, or the overall design and identity.

Other manufacturers have successfully revisited or continued production of proven platforms due to ongoing demand. Examples include the Nissan Navara NP300, the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series, the Lada Niva, and performance or heritage programs such as those by Porsche, which demonstrate clear demand for driver focused, historically significant vehicles.

This is not nostalgia. It is unmet demand. A time limited production run would allow genuine buyers to participate, reduce speculative purchasing, and better reflect real market demand.
