We, the undersigned fans of the Stargate franchise, respectfully urge Amazon MGM Studios to reconsider the cancellation of the upcoming Stargate series.
For decades, Stargate has been one of the most beloved science-fiction franchises in television history. Through Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe, millions of fans around the world followed stories of exploration, discovery, hope, and humanity's place among the stars.
When Amazon announced a new Stargate series, excitement spread throughout the global fan community. After more than a decade without a major television continuation, fans were thrilled to see experienced Stargate creators returning to help bring the franchise back to life. Many longtime viewers renewed their enthusiasm for the franchise, while a new generation of fans prepared to discover Stargate for the first time.
The reported cancellation of the project has been deeply disappointing. We believe Stargate remains a powerful and valuable franchise with a passionate international audience that has demonstrated its loyalty for nearly thirty years.
