Hi! I'm a Waterville resident working to get our main and side streets some permanent signage for the Winter Parking Ban. 

We estimate that around 100 cars are towed per month (using an estimate from Brock at Dostie's Towing).  Dostie's and Ace towing split the towing responsibility for our city when cars are parked illegally on main street, in the concorse, and down side streets from December 1st until April 30th. 

Many have expressed frustration with the lack of signage outside of two signs in the Concourse. The towing charge and ticket is $200; $175 of which has to be paid in cash. 

As we have many visiting for Colby and tourism, staying at the Lockwood hotel, it is imperative to modernize our city and make it more ameniable to visitors.  

The signs would be placed every so many feet along Main street, Common street, and any other roads that are covered under the ban. 

A notification system has done a world of good for our community however, it is not a holistic solution to this issue. There is a bit of push back from a couple of our city counselors so please sign this ban so they can have a better understanding of how many are in favor of this update.
