Many skaters in the OKC area and surrounding cities have declared South Lakes as their favorite skate park due to its wide selection of ledges, hubbas, rails, and stair sets that range between various sizes. This causes it to be very beginner friendly and accessible for learning new tricks and honing skills. The only downside considered unanimously is that there are no lights. Many skaters have work or school during the weekdays, and are therefore limited to only a couple hours of South Lakes time after their respective duties. Considering the rest of the recreational areas at South Lakes Park are lit, it seems fair and within reason to make this addition to this beloved skate park. From the Oklahoma skate community, this petition acts as a vow to do our part in up-keeping and respecting this park if granted the ability to skate it even after the sun goes down. We plead with the city officials to hear this request and give consideration to it. Thank you.
