Petition to add Filipino Sign Language as a General Education Class in Universities

The Issue

Universities claim to provide an accessible and inclusive education, yet we leave out our differently-abled brothers and sisters.

Individuals who are Deaf or hard of hearing are unlikely to be able to complete their studies up to college due to a lack of accessible institutions, which may result in limited options to make a living.

A Filipino Sign Language general elective class could benefit both hearing and Deaf/Hard of hearing individuals in breaking down communication barriers, expanding equal opportunities for the Deaf community, and making universities more inclusive and accessible.

Together, we can break the barrier. Together, we can create a more inclusive society.
