Petition to Activision: Reduce Bots to 50% in Call of Duty: Warzone Battle Royale Casual M

The Issue

Dear Activision, Raven Software, and Sledgehammer Games,

We, the Call of Duty: Warzone South Africa community and beyond, respectfully request that you consider reducing the number of bots in Battle Royale Casual mode to 50% of lobby capacity (74 bots and 74 human players in a 148-player lobby).

The current Casual mode, introduced in Season 3 (April 2025) and continued as Resurgence Casual in Season 4, features 120 bots and 28 human players. While this setup is beginner-friendly, many players, including those in South Africa, find it limits competitive engagement. Reducing bots to 74 would create a more balanced experience, blending the accessibility of Casual mode with the excitement of human competition, encouraging skill development and retention.

For South African players, local server support in Casual mode delivers low ping (27–40ms), unlike standard Battle Royale’s reliance on EU servers (200–220ms). We believe a 50% bot ratio can maintain local server viability by optimizing matchmaking during peak hours, ensuring low latency and accessibility.

We appreciate your commitment to evolving Casual mode based on player data, as noted in recent interviews. We urge you to consider this change to enhance the experience for casual and competitive players alike. Please monitor community feedback and matchmaking data to make Battle Royale Casual mode even more engaging.

Sincerely,

Call of Duty Warzone South Africa
