The Issue

This petition is to ask the Federal Trade Commission to investigate the occurrence of false advertising and deceptive practices in the game Love and Deepspace in relation to the base content of the five interactable love interests.

In the game you can interact with the five characters through memories you collect, battle with them as your companions, and play interactive video content.

The 2 characters released after launch have less free, standard content than the 3 available at launch. This includes: battle partners, memories (gacha), and interactive videos. The lack of this content affected multiple areas of the game such as:

-building rapport with that character
-progressing in battle content with that character
-gacha rates for that character (because they have less content, the chances of earning that character in the standard pool are lowered)

These factors have had a negative impact on player experience. The issue has been well-documented by players of the game, with evidence and statistics, though the company has failed to respond to player concerns.

Because of the high-quality graphics in the game, many assumed that the content needed more time to be made and that eventually it would be added to equalize the base content for all characters. However, the one year anniversary of the fourth character (Sylus) has just passed and there is no indication that Infold plans to add the base content.

We feel this falls under false advertising and deceptive practices because there is no indication in the onboarding process that the two later characters are treated separately in the game, with less content, compared to the three original characters. New players are not informed that they will have a more difficult time in battle content, both because the gacha rate is lower and the characters are purposefully made to need limited gacha content to clear battle content without significant difficulty. New players are not informed that it is much more difficult to build rapport with the two later characters due to the disparity in base content.

Many players, myself included, have paid money with the expectation that development was taking place to address the unequal, unbalanced distribution of base content for these characters. Some players also boycotted, but because they did not have support from others, the boycotts failed. The company has also declined to address players' concerns directly and have given no statement on their intentions.

This is why we have decided to bring the matter to the attention of the FTC.

With your signatures we can raise awareness and bring this issue to the attention of the proper authorities and hopefully come to a peaceful resolution.
