We as a Magic the Gathering community have failed. Since the decision to ban multiple cards from commander, members of the Rules Committee ("RC") have been bombarded with angry words, escalating all the way up to death threats. Of particular sadness are the death threats towards Olivia Gobert-Hicks, a well known and well loved personality in the community. It got to the point that Jim LePage, another member of the RC, had to release a tweet telling people Olivia was the voice of dissent, our voice. It is one thing to disagree with a decision, to lobby for change. But to threaten members of the community with violence and death is completely unacceptable. It goes against everything Sheldon believed in, and it should go against everything you believe in. By signing this petition, you are sending two messages. First, that Olivia is support, loved, and not alone. You are showing we are with her as a community, and that such hateful rhetoric has no place here. Second, you are sending this simple message to those individuals who would send such vile remarks: you are outnumbered. We will not stand for such language. We are better than this.
