Petition for YouNow to Hire Alex to Help Improve the Platform
The Issue
We, the users and supporters of the YouNow community, are coming together to formally encourage YouNow to hire Alex as part of their team to help improve and strengthen the platform.
Alex is already a partnered broadcaster on YouNow. He has consistently contributed positivity, creativity, and innovation to the community. More importantly, he has demonstrated initiative and technical ability by independently creating a Chrome extension called BetterNow, designed to enhance the YouNow user experience. BetterNow is currently used by around 100 users — a clear sign that members of the community trust his vision and want improvements to the platform.
YouNow, as we all know, faces ongoing technical and user-experience challenges. From performance issues to feature limitations and quality-of-life improvements, there are areas where users consistently request change. The community wants these issues addressed — and Alex has already shown he is willing and capable of working toward solutions.
Instead of innovating outside the platform, Alex has expressed a desire to work with YouNow directly to help fix existing problems and improve the overall experience for both streamers and viewers. Hiring someone who:
- Understands the platform from a broadcaster’s perspective
- Has technical experience building platform enhancements
- Already has the trust of the community
- Has demonstrated initiative without being asked
- would be a smart and community-driven decision.
This petition is not just about hiring one person — it’s about showing that YouNow listens to its users and values innovation from within its own community.
