We, the undersigned members in good standing of the United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA), respectfully submit this petition to the Board of Directors pursuant to and in accordance with the USASA Bylaws.

WHEREAS, USASA is a member-driven organization that exists to serve the interests of its membership; and

WHEREAS, transparency in governance fosters trust, accountability, and informed participation among members; and

WHEREAS, decisions made by the Board of Directors directly impact the membership, the direction of the organization, and the integrity of its operations;

THEREFORE, we, the undersigned, formally request the following:

In accordance with Article II – Meetings, Section 2 (Special Club Meetings), which provides that a Special Meeting shall be called by the Secretary upon receipt of a petition signed by at least ten percent (10%) of members in good standing:

1.     That all regular and special meetings of the USASA Board of Directors be open to observation by members in good standing, except when the Board enters executive session for matters requiring confidentiality (including, but not limited to, legal matters, disciplinary proceedings, or personnel issues). 

2.     That reasonable advance notice of all Board meetings be provided to the membership, including the date, time, and access information. 

3.     That members be permitted to observe Board meetings in real time, whether in person or through electronic means (such as video or teleconference). 

4.     That upon certification of this petition meeting the required threshold, the Secretary calls a Special Meeting of the membership for the purpose of discussing these requests and any related action consistent with the USASA Bylaws. 

PURPOSE:
This petition is not intended to amend or alter the bylaws of USASA, but rather to promote greater transparency, accountability, and trust between the Board of Directors and the membership.

Providing members with real-time visibility into Board proceedings will better inform the membership, encourage meaningful participation in committees, and foster a more engaged and informed voice in the governance and direction of the Club.

We respectfully request that the Board of Directors acknowledge receipt of this petition and give it full and fair consideration in accordance with the USASA Bylaws.
