The Issue

Petition for Transparency and Accountability in Blue Ridge Youth Soccer Program.

To the Board of Blue Ridge Youth Soccer and All Concerned Parents, Players, and Community Members:

We, the undersigned parents, players, coaches, and community members of Blue Ridge Youth Soccer , respectfully request an open transparency meeting with the current Board and call for the resignation of all current Board members effective at the end of the 2026 season.

Background and Reasons

Our local soccer program plays a vital role in the development, health, and enjoyment of our children. However, growing concerns about decision-making, communication, financial transparency, and overall governance have eroded trust in the current Board. Parents and families deserve clear answers, open dialogue, and leadership that prioritizes the best interests of the players above all else.

Key issues prompting this petition include:

•  Lack of timely and transparent communication with families

•  Questions regarding budgeting, fees, sponsorships, and fund allocation

•  Decision-making processes that appear to exclude meaningful parent or coach input

•  Concerns about player safety, equitable playing time, coaching standards, or program policies

•  Overall need for fresh perspectives and renewed focus on the mission of youth soccer

Our Requests

1.  Immediate Open Transparency Meeting
Hold a public meeting (in-person and/or virtual) open to all families, coaches, and interested community members no later than August 1, 2026. The agenda must include:

 •  A full financial report and budget overview

 •  Explanation of recent and upcoming policy & last minute scheduling decisions

 •  Opportunity for parents to ask questions and provide feedback

 •  Clear timeline for any changes or improvements

2.  Board Resignations Effective End of 2026 Season
All current Board members agree to step down at the conclusion of the 2026 season. This will allow for an open nomination and election process for new Board members who can bring renewed energy, transparency, and trust to the program. Current members may choose to re-run for positions if they wish, but a clean transition will help restore confidence

We believe these steps are reasonable, constructive, and necessary to strengthen our soccer program for the benefit of all our children. Strong youth sports organizations thrive on trust, accountability, and community involvement.

Call to Action

We urge the Board to respond positively and promptly to these requests. By embracing transparency and a leadership transition, we can move forward together with a stronger, more united program.
