The Issue

Statement of Concern We, the undersigned, believe that Mr. Dennis W. Futch has demonstrated conduct inconsistent with the standards of integrity, transparency, and unity expected of a county party chairman. Rather than representing all Republicans and fostering collaboration across the county, Mr. Futch has repeatedly engaged in divisive, intimidating, and unprofessional behavior that undermines confidence in our local party and its leadership. Background • Mr. Futch has used his position and influence to attack fellow Republicans, including elected officials such as Rod Howell, Sam Watson, and Chas Cannon, for reasons that appear personal and vindictive rather than issue-based. • He has bullied and attempted to manipulate local donors, volunteers, and community leaders instead of encouraging open participation. • As county chairman, he has hosted and promoted political candidates in primary races, a practice widely viewed as improper for a local chair whose role should remain neutral until after primaries. • These actions have fostered distrust, division, and embarrassment within the Colquitt County Republican Party, harming its credibility with voters and supporters. Expectations of a County Chairman A county chairman is expected to: • Represent the entire Republican community, not only favored individuals or factions. • Maintain professionalism and impartiality, especially during primaries. • Foster unity, recruitment, and trust, ensuring all Republicans feel welcome. • Act with honesty and transparency in both speech and action. Request Because Mr. Futch’s recent behavior fails to meet these standards, we respectfully call for his immediate resignation as Chairman of the Colquitt County Republican Party so that new leadership can restore honor, trust, and cooperation within our local organization. Resolution We urge the Colquitt County Republican Committee and the Georgia Republican Party to recognize this petition as an official expression of no confidence and to facilitate a fair and orderly transition of leadership.
