The Issue

Dear Friends, Family, and Community Members,

Thank you for taking a moment to read this. Our family is reaching out for your support as we advocate for the parole of my brother, Cedric Lewis Brown (#796918), who has been incarcerated since 1993. As he approaches his next parole review, your voice can make a powerful difference.

Over the past three decades, Cedric has worked hard to transform his life. He has completed numerous rehabilitation programs—such as Effective Communication, Character Development, Statewide Lifers/Long Term Offender Program, ServSafe Food Handler, Floor Technician, Relationship Building, Custodial Maintenance, Reentry Assessment, and Thinking for a Change—demonstrating real growth, reflection, and responsibility. He has remained loving, supportive, and connected to our family despite the challenges of incarceration.

Today, we are asking for your support in helping Cedric take the next step toward rebuilding his life.

By signing this petition and, if you choose, submitting a brief letter of support, you are lending your voice to show the Parole Board that Cedric has a community that believes in him, cares for him, and is ready to help him succeed when he comes home. Your support shows that he is not alone — that he has people willing to stand behind him, encourage him, and help provide stability as he reintegrates into society.

Every signature, every letter, and every word of encouragement matters. Your participation is not just a gesture — it is an act of hope, compassion, and belief in second chances.

On behalf of our family, thank you for your kindness, your time, and your willingness to support Cedric on his journey forward.

With gratitude,
Josette D. Gordon
