Conduct a thorough and transparent review of the Goetheanum's current spiritual missions and goals. This examination should involve input from leading Anthroposophical scholars, practitioners, and the global Anthroposophical community and identify areas where the Goetheanum's activities have deviated from Steiner's original instructions, particularly those outlined in his letters to the Michaelites.

 

Return to True Steinerian Anthroposophy

Reaffirm the Goetheanum's commitment to the core principles of Anthroposophy as articulated by Steiner. This includes a renewed focus on spiritual science, esoteric Christianity, and the cultivation of a deeper understanding of the human being's relationship with the spiritual impulses behind materialistic phenomenon.

Implement educational and outreach programs that align with Steiner's original vision, fostering a global movement towards spiritual awakening and human development.

4 Main Points of Failure by the Goetheanum

Mishandling of the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Goetheanum's response to the COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated a troubling capitulation to external Ahrimanic pressures. Rather than providing clear spiritual guidance and insight, the institution succumbed to fear and materialistic approaches, neglecting the deeper spiritual implications of the crisis. As Steiner emphasized, "Ahriman will work through the forces of fear and anxiety, materialism and intellect" (GA 177). The failure to resist these influences and offer a spiritually informed perspective has eroded trust within the Anthroposophical community.

Failure to Address Key Spiritual Events of Our Time

The Goetheanum has failed to adequately prepare or inform the Anthroposophical community about crucial spiritual events and their implications, such as the War of All Against All, the Sorath event of 1998, and the crisis at the end of the twentieth century. Steiner warned of these pivotal moments, stating, "Sorath, the Sun Demon, will challenge humanity at the end of the century" 

(GA 104). The lack of emphasis and education on these events has left many unprepared for their spiritual significance and consequences.

Regarding the War of All Against All, Steiner stated, "The evil impulses of egoism will become stronger and stronger... There will come a time when mankind will be divided into two streams, one led by Christ and the other by Ahriman" (GA 13). He further elaborated that this event would culminate at the end of the twentieth century, emphasizing the urgency of spiritual preparedness (GA 104). The Goetheanum's omission of such critical teachings has failed to prepare humanity for this profound spiritual battle.

Furthermore, Steiner spoke of a crisis where "humanity is redeemed or lost," emphasizing the critical juncture at which humanity stands. This crisis, as outlined in GA 104, underscores the necessity for spiritual preparation and guidance, which the Goetheanum has failed to provide adequately.

Neglect of the 48 Michaelic Leaders

Perhaps most grievously, the Goetheanum has completely neglected and omitted the recognition of the 48 Michaelic leaders who have reincarnated at the end of the 20th century. Steiner prophesied, "The Michaelites who once stood with me in the spiritual world will reincarnate to aid in the fulfillment of our mission on Earth" (source: Rudolf Steiner, Letters to the Michaelites). The refusal to acknowledge and integrate these souls into the leadership and activities of the Goetheanum is an unforgivable indiscretion, undermining the spiritual mission and betraying Steiner's prophetic vision.

The Rise of the Clique Spirit

The Goetheanum has succumbed to the influence of the clique spirit, which Steiner warned about. He stated, "The clique spirit will creep into the Anthroposophical Society, leading it away from its true tasks and turning it into something quite different. The best intentions will be thwarted by the personal ambitions and the tendency of people to form cliques" (GA 240). This insidious spirit has overtaken the leadership and operations of the Goetheanum, leading to a deviation from its original mission and fostering division within the Anthroposophical movement. Steiner further warned, "Sectarianism and the clique spirit will be the downfall of Anthroposophy if not recognized and addressed" (GA 240). This failure is particularly egregious, as the Vorstand and members are held to a higher standard, entrusted with the sacred task of guiding humanity’s spiritual evolution.

The Goetheanum stands at a crossroads. It is incumbent upon us, as stewards of Steiner's legacy, to ensure that this institution remains faithful to its foundational mission. By addressing these demands, we can realign the Goetheanum with the true spirit of Anthroposophy, thereby fulfilling Steiner's prophetic vision and guiding humanity towards a brighter, more spiritually enlightened future. Failure to do so risks not only the integrity of the Goetheanum but also the spiritual well-being of humanity itself.
