We, the undersigned, urge the City of Lawrence to support and approve a special variance for the establishment of the Kiskeya Cultural Complex, a visionary multi-use facility dedicated to fostering the integration and success of Creole-speaking immigrants, particularly from the Haitian community. This initiative is a strategic partnership between the owners of Jaspen Realty Group and the Haitian Association of Indiana Corp, which has been a steadfast pillar of the Haitian community since 2008.

The Kiskeya Cultural Complex will be a beacon of hope and opportunity, focusing on English as a Second Language (ESL) education to empower immigrants with the linguistic skills necessary to thrive in our society. By providing comprehensive ESL programs, we will equip immigrants to become productive citizens who contribute to the local economy and community life.

The complex will also provide affordable rentable spaces for small business owners and non-profits, fostering entrepreneurship and enabling these organizations to deliver vital services to both the Haitian immigrant population and the broader community.
