This is a formal request that Taverna Costera ends all business relations with Raymond “J” Sicam and Jan Sicam of Jan Jan and The Gentlemen. This request is in result of the recently discovered information that Raymond Sicam is a Tier 3 sex offender, charged with aggravated rape of a child with a 10 year age difference, and indecent assault and battery of a minor 14 or over.

As of today, 7/14/2026, Jan Jan and The Gentlemen is still on the calendar to resume their weekly Sunday brunch show at Taverna Costera. On 7/12/2026, this show happened without J’s presence, but still included Jan Sicam, his sister. Jan was aware of this incident that happened in 2018, and of J’s conviction in 2020, and has chosen to give him a platform for years at her shows here in Las Vegas. After this information reached the community, Jan continued to support J.

Following the community learning of J’s charges, J and Jan have united in a cover story stating that J, at 33, was in a relationship with the 15 year old victim, and charges were pressed after the child’s family found out. Not only is this not a valid excuse, as this is still blatant pedophilia, but this story does not align with the nature of the charges. 

According to Massachusetts law, “Aggravated Rape” is defined as rape that results in or is committed with acts that cause serious bodily injury. “Rape of a Child” is defined as sexual intercourse with a child under 16 and compelling such child to submit by force and against child’s will or compelling such child to submit by threat of bodily injury. This means that this was a violent act against the child’s will. 

Offenders do not get charged with crimes of this severity without sufficient evidence, such as injuries or marks on the child victim. No one becomes a Tier 3 sex offender based on hearsay. These are not allegations, they are convictions.

Tier 3 sex offenders have a high risk of re-offending and pose a high degree of danger to the public. Information about them is publicly available. J’s reaction to this information being found by the local music scene being to go on the defense demonstrates that he has not done anything to change his behavior, and denies that he caused harm. 

We are demanding that Taverna Costera, home to many all-ages events, ceases all business relations with Raymond “J” Sicam and Jan Sicam. We will not tolerate pedophiles, rapists, or their apologists in the Las Vegas music scene. Until relations have ceased, we will not give Taverna Costera any business. This includes, but is not limited to booking, playing, or attending shows, and making purchases from Taverna Costera or Dragon’s Alley Coffee. This boycott is indefinite, until the appropriate changes have been made.

This statement will be sent to Jeff Hwang, owner of Taverna Costera, once an adequate amount of signatures are acquired. Thank you for your time and attention to this serious matter.
