Residents throughout northern Utah County are increasingly concerned about rough roads, uneven utility trench patches, raised and sunken manhole covers, deteriorating railroad crossings, and repeated roadway cuts after resurfacing projects are completed.

Many major roads throughout Pleasant Grove, Lindon, American Fork, Highland, Lehi, and surrounding areas have become increasingly rough due to patchwork pavement repairs, utility excavation, settlement, and uneven roadway surfaces. These conditions create excessive vibration, harsh ride conditions, roadway noise, and unnecessary wear on personal vehicles, buses, wheelchair transport vehicles, and commercial traffic.

This petition requests improved roadway smoothness standards, better utility trench restoration practices, improved coordination between paving and utility projects, safer railroad crossing repairs, and long-term roadway maintenance improvements throughout northern Utah County.

Residents are asking local cities, Public Works Departments, Engineering Departments, utility agencies, Utah County, and UDOT to evaluate these concerns and prioritize smoother, safer, and more durable roadway conditions for the public.
