We are campaigning to get safer pedestrian crossings to Alexandra Park. Our focus is on 3 crossings which are currently unsafe for pedestrians

1.    All crossings at the junction of Alexandra Road and Claremont Road

2.    Crossing Claremont Road at Princess Parkway junction, opposite Timpson Locksmith

3.    Crossing Princess Parkway, opposite Shell Garage

Why?:

·       Safety Concerns as pedestrians, including young children, are forced to navigate through heavy traffic, leading to dangerous situations.

·       Inadequate existing crossings are not conveniently situated for the most frequented routes, particularly for those accessing the nearby  schools & nurseries on a daily basis.

·       Environmental concerns as pedestrians have long exposure to traffic emissions due waiting at roadside for long periods of time as cars sometimes continuously flow, especially in rush hour.

Our Proposal:

We propose the installation of safe pedestrian crossings complete with traffic lights and clear signage. These crossing would ensure a safe passage for all pedestrians, significantly reduce the risk of accidents, and improve the environmental conditions for those waiting to cross.
