Petition updatePetition for ResignationMore E-Mails Sought From Martin, City In Wake Of Clerk-Treasurer's Resignation

With no public explanation for Logansport Clerk-Treasurer Tyler Pearson's resignation in the middle of his four-year term, the release of more emails from Mayor Chris Martin, Pearson, the State Department of Local Government Finance and the State Board of Accounts have been formally requested.

City attorney Kelly Leeman has reasoned that he would not release e-mails related to Martin's handling of the Ironhorsemen basketball fiasco that could cost him more than $40,000. The city council has refused to pay a bill for lodging at the Super 8 Motel its attorney says Martin or the city owes. While Leeman contends there is pending litigation, no litigation has been filed by the Kokomo attorney six months after he said in a letter the emails would not be released because of pending litigation.

This merry-go-round of mystery, frequent absences by the Mayor and a myriad of issues that continue to dog him are among the reasons Logansport residents are being asked to sign this petition. Is Logansport facing a state audit? Did Pearson leave because he couldn't balance the books and that's why the city council contracted with former Clerk-Treasurer Duane Ullom to do a fiscal plan? Logansport residents deserve answers, and a city manager who is professionally trained. Please join us in taking Logansport back and restoring faith in our city government. Thank you for caring for our community.
