As the calendar turns from 2025 to 2026, on the final day of the year, the Indiana Office of Public Access Counselor has relayed information that the City of Logansport is not releasing e-mails from Mayor Chris Martin regarding the Ironhorsemen basketball controversy.

In its response to the state, City Attorney Kelly Leeman produced a July letter to former Mayor Dave Kitchell indicating that the emails would not be released because of threatened personal and professional litigation against Martin regarding the emails. However, the emails are a matter of public record and must eventually be released under state law. Martin has made his emails the Logansport equivalent of the Epstein Files. No one ever seems to get to see them, though the law dictates that what's done on public time with public equipment and technology is a matter of public record -- and the public has a right to know.

Meanwhile, 500 petitoners are requesting Martin to resign so that he can be replaced by an independent, professionally certified city manager.

Please start the new year by making it your resolution to demand Chris Martin's resignation and the release of e-mails which may cost the city more than $40,000.
