With Veterans Day again resonating with Logansport citizens who are appalled that Mayor Chris Martin does not take time on a city holiday to honor veterans and war dead, signatures for the petitioning demanding his resignation surpassed 36 dozen.

The rate of signatures has averaged more than one a day for more than a year. Meanwhile, court dates which could potentially garnishee Martin's city paycheck for unpaid debts await, as does the outcome of a situation in which the owner of the Super 8 Motel seeks more than $40,000 in payment for lodging for the Iron Horses basketball team.

Many are thankful that the petition is moving forward as families return to Logansport, astonished that Martin is still in office and has not resigned, even though hundreds want him to do just that. Many are thankful for being able to grow up in Logansport, and while they may not still live here, they care about their hometown and hate to see it in its current state.
