Tuesday, November 11, is the day America honors its veterans -- people who have served and in many cases died for our country.
But not every public officials does unfortunately. One of them is Logansport Mayor Chris Martin who is frequently absent from Logansport's Veterans Day and Memorial Day ceremonies. In today's preview of the local Veterans Day observance, the Pharos-Tribune made no mention of Martin appearing or speaking at the City Building observance tomorrow. While there are many reasons to disagree with Mayor Martin, his policies, his frequent absences and his pending court appearances, it is offensive to veterans, their survivors and their families that the primary public officials who refuses to appear at these traditional observances is Logansport's Mayor.
Please join us Tuesday and all days in opposing this conduct and demanding that Martin resign so that the city council can appoint a non-partisan, professionally trained city manager.
For veterans and for future generation of Logansport residents, it would be appreciated.
Thank you for caring for our city, and than you veterans for defending our freedom.
