As the sun rises on Logansport's former Big Lots store every morning, it shines on a boarded up storefront.

There is no traffic in the parking lot, no for sale sign and no plan from the Mayor's Office to redevelop the property at 2525 E. Markets St. Meanwhile on Monday, it was another three-day weekend for the mayor, whose parking space with a rechargeable electric car port, was vacant today. Will it be a four-day weekend, meaning he will predictably make it into the office for his obligatory Wednesday meeting with the Board of Public Works and Safety and department heads?

It's a work schedule that would be more appropriate for someone taking the mayor's position as a part-time retirement job than someone halfway to retirement who seldom works five-day weeks.

This scenario is among the many reasons more than 32 dozen local residents have signed this petition demanding Chris Martin's resignation.
