In the last 30 years, no Logansport mayor of either party has had the kind of churn -- constant turnover -- on the Logansport Board of Public Works and Safety, than Chris Martin.

He fired Republican Lisa Terry for her work with the humane society and advancing city animal control. He divorced his own deputy mayor who left the board. He then went to the wife of a city council candidate, who resigned. Then he chose a city council candidate, Bill Cox, who served at the end of his first term. And now he has changed again.

This kind of disruption doesn't serve the city well because the board is scheduled to meet weekly to deal with city issues that arise, and it meets more than twice as often as the city council. Yet Martin has canceled board meetings -- a board he chairs.

This board deals with property maintenance and code enforcement, city contracts and citizen complaints. Stability is key with a board that the public is more likely to deal with than any other. His Absenteeism in his first term alone was higher than what is considered "chronic Absenteeism" as previously stated.
