It was announced at Tuesday's Logansport Utility Service Board meeting that a long-time Cass County employer will be expanding.
The Andersons will be adding infrastructure at its facility on Ind. 25 southwest of Logansport. As a part of the project, water lines will be running to the unincorporated community of Clymers.
While this project represents millions in new usage for the utilities, it once again points to the lack of economic development in the city of Logansport under Mayor Chris Martin: No expansion in the Cass/Logan Industrial Park, restaurants closing downtown, a nonprofit hospital in debt that is given to Fort Wayne Parkview to pay off, 4C Health moving its main office to Peru, penny dime stores flourishing with the lack of high-paying jobs and one of the state's worst unemployment rates.
These are among the reasons why nearly 33 dozen Logansport residents have signed a petition demanding that Martin resign and be replaced by a professionally trained and certified city manager such as Munster and Fishers have used to grow their cities.
Please sign and share and think about how long we can wait with no economic development projects happening. Thank you for caring for our community's future.
