Petition updatePetition for ResignationLabor Day For Most; Just Another Day Off For Logansport's Mayor Martin

As thousands of Logansport residents celebrate the last day of summer with a day off from their employment, summer is ending.

But the stonewalling from the Logansport City Administration continues. A formal request made for the release of Mayor Martin's emails involving the semi-pro basketball team that is pursuing legal action against the city for more than $46,000 in unpaid lodging bills from a Logansport motel. Under state law, the city has to provide the emails, but City Attorney Kelly Leeman has indicated they have been forwarded to the city's insurance company for possible claim payment. That however does not circumvent state law, it merely delays the release. But the city is stalling and delaying, hoping the issue will fade away like the Epstein files.

Meanwhile, the typical Logansport working resident would be offended if a co-worker didn't show up for work, yet continued to be paid by their boss. That's the situation the mayor put the city in during his first term when he was absent often, frequently coming in one day a week. Thiat's not the American work ethic, and it's certainly not the Logansport work ethic. But it is the one that symbolizes Chris Martin's "labor" on behalf of the City of Logansport and its citizens. Driving on an expired plate without being held accountable by Logansport police continues the picture of privilege he portrays.

Join us in celebrating Labor Day by signing a petition demanding the resignation of a mayor who doesn't show up to "Labor" on our behalf. Please sign and share as more than 31 dozen Logansport residents already have.

Thank you for caring for the future of our community. Happy Labor Day.
