In neighboring Pulaski County, a county councilman is pictured here as he was booked into the Pulaski County Jail for trying to draw a paycheck for representing a district where he didn't live. It's been a theme for public officials, including former Logansport Clerk-Treasurer Stacy Cox Martin. She resided on Cliff Drive outside the city limits during her term in office. But when her residency was exposed, Mayor Chris Martin invited her to become deputy mayor, then proposed to her, then married her -- then divorced her.
All the while, Pulaski Councilman Young (pictured above) was held accountable for his actions, as former Secretary of State Charlie White was (he lost his job) and now the president of the South Bend City Council who is being urged to step aside.
Logansport has become a city where public officials aren't upholding state laws on residency, and the commission of a felony for drawing salaries for representation that is not legal.
For these and many other reasons, Logansport residents have signed a petition demanding the Mayor Martin resign. Please join us in signing and sharing and upholding laws that should be enforced in Logansport as they are in other cities and counties in Indiana.
