What do the man pictured above and Chris Martin's now former wife have in common?

They were both elected officials once, but decided to move outside the corporate limits of the places they were elected to serve. This man, former Indiana Secretary of State Charlie White, lost his job in 2012 for doing that and was found guilty of collecting a paycheck for serving on the Fishers City Council, even after he moved out of Fishers. Martin's former wife, Stacy Cox Martin, lived outside the corporate limits of Logansport during her term in office. Yet when it was revealed, Martin not only failed to hold her accountable, he hired her to be deputy mayor, then proposed to her and married her -- then divorced her. Meanwhile, he's given her a pass on paying back the money she owes the city she was paid when she wasn't living here.

This is another one of many reasons why more than 200 Logansport residents have signed a petition demanding he resign, and that the city council replace him with a nonpartisan city manager. Meanwhile, the council has done what Martin couldn't in his five years in office: They have approved funding for renovation of the Memorial Center.
