With the Logansport City Council prepared to restrict public comment thanks to crowds of people who have filled the council chambers in opposition to the mayor, signatures for the petition formally asking him to step down continue to mount.

The total is now more than 170 and climbing steadily.

Meanwhile, the Logansport Report, a satire of local government, has set its sights on Martin again along with his likely understanding that the movement against him in his community is growing stronger.

Former Mayor Mike Fincher has posted a request to stop making fun of the city, however, it's clear by the comments made in response to the Logansport Report and by the petition signers who have volunteered their opinions that it is hard for many to take Logansport city government seriously. Some of the reasons -- including the mayor's frequent absence from the City Building -- are among the 10 reasons mentioned on the petition.

No one likes to be laughed at, but unfortunately, Logansport and its residents are because of the mayor's behavior and performance in his job.
