Something Logansport residents are becoming more irked about is the failure of Mayor Chris Martin to enforce parking laws. Specifically, vehicles parked on the street for more than 48 hours are granted permanent amnesty from parking violations. Why? Because the natives are restless and he is doing whatever he can to avoid being controversial. In the most blatant of cases on East Broadway, a parked car is even tarped so it can be stored for long-term parking on the busiest street in the city between 23rd and 24th streets.

These are among the many reasons more than 150 Logansport residents have signed our petition demanding that he resign and that a non-partisan, professionally trained city manager be appointed by the city council to bring Logansport up to par with other cities our size. There's more to running a city than showing up to work once or twice a week to attend a meeting. That's what more citizens are talking about and what Logansport deserves.
