Logansport has taken on many new projects thanks to the renamed Logansport Utilities. But it has also taken on more debt, which is now being added on to monthly utility bills. During inflationary times when the cost of everything is going up, Mayor Chris Martin has not been a champion of lower utility rates. During the previous administration, three Utility Service Board members were appointed by the mayor and electric rates dropped by more than 11 percent. Later, rates were cut again. That move positioned Logansport as one of the lowest electric rate utilities in Indiana -- lower than what it would have been had the city remained with Duke Energy after decades with the company.

During these inflationary times since the pandemic, people turn to government to give them relief. Mayor Chris Martin is not providing it. In fact, he's heaping on more cost of living to our daily lives.

For this and other reasons, please join us in signing our petition demanding that he resign and that the council appoint a professionally-trained, nonpartisan city manager to run our city like a business. We appreciate your support.
