Subject: Petition for Reduction in NEET UG Qualifying Marks

Respected Sir/Madam,

We, the undersigned NEET UG aspirants, respectfully request your kind consideration for a reduction in the NEET UG qualifying marks.

This year's examination was perceived by many candidates as more challenging than previous years. As a result, many sincere and hardworking students may not qualify despite putting in significant effort and demonstrating the potential to succeed in medical education.

A reduction in the qualifying marks would:

• Ensure that deserving candidates are not unfairly disadvantaged.
• Provide equal opportunity to students affected by the increased difficulty level of the examination.
• Help eligible students participate in the admission process based on their merit.

Additionally, reducing the qualifying marks would also benefit students who wish to pursue an MBBS degree abroad. Under the current regulations, qualifying NEET is a mandatory eligibility requirement for Indian students seeking admission to foreign medical universities. Students who narrowly miss the qualifying cutoff are unable to pursue medical education abroad, even when they have secured admission to recognized institutions and are prepared to continue their studies outside India. A reasonable reduction in the qualifying marks would allow such students to access these opportunities while continuing to comply with the regulatory framework.

We are not requesting any unfair advantage but a fair review of the qualifying criteria considering the overall difficulty of the examination and its impact on candidates.

We sincerely request the concerned authorities to review the qualifying percentile and consider an appropriate reduction in the qualifying marks in the interest of fairness, equal opportunity, and the future of aspiring medical students.
