This petition is created on behalf of people from every country, background, and culture, to civilians, service members, soldiers of all kinds, and world leaders alike. This petition was made for all those who are not in favor of violent and fatal wars.

War has been part of human history since the dawn of time, and it has never failed to take a heavy toll. It doesn’t just affect the lives of innocent civilians—it can end them. And when it doesn’t take lives, it destroys homes, neighborhoods, towns, and entire countries. So many lives and resources are wasted, all because of the bitter squabbling of political elites.

Those in positions of leadership must understand that war affects their citizens the most, along with the soldiers sent to die—many of whom don’t want to fight, don’t want to take lives, and don’t want to die.

World leaders should know better than to initiate war. There is a better, simpler, and non-violent way to settle disputes, and that is why we propose the following:

If world leaders find themselves in conflict, they should meet at an agreed-upon location, bringing only themselves and no weapons to engage in a non-violent duel. Let it be a battle of wit, skill, or strength, not destruction.
Let them prove their leadership and resolve through peaceful trials, not warfare.

Why continue wasting lives and money on barbaric, violent wars, when symbolic contests or diplomatic showdowns could settle the matter?
Good sportsmanship is far more mature and honorable than engaging in petty and devastating warfare.
