Petition for Justice for London Valdez

Petition for Justice for London Valdez
The Issue
Why we’re speaking out
Our family is grieving the tragic death of London Valdez, a 16-year-old minor who died with higher-than-lethal levels of methamphetamine in her system and left 3 miles outside of Forgan Oklahoma on a dirt road June 7, 2025. We are calling for full accountability under Oklahoma law for any adults whose actions contributed to her death.
Specifically, we call on law enforcement and the District Attorneys in Texas County, Beaver County, and Woodward County, to arrest and charge Brayden Brown and Jose Minjares— with the evidence that shows they furnished or facilitated controlled substances to London or used controlled substances with her, knowingly and willingly aided in her state as a runaway —and to pursue all applicable charges under Oklahoma law.
We make this request as a grieving family seeking accountability. We understand arrests and charges must be based on evidence and probable cause, and we ask authorities to act accordingly.
What Oklahoma law says
Supplying drugs to minors (63 O.S. § 2-401(E))
It is a felony for an adult (18+) to use or solicit a person under 18 to distribute or dispense controlled substances, or to distribute/dispense controlled substances to a person under 18. Penalties include lengthy prison terms.
First-degree murder when death results from drug distribution (21 O.S. § 701.7(B))
A person commits first-degree murder when a human being is killed during, or when the death results from, the unlawful distributing or dispensing of controlled dangerous substances. Punishment for first-degree murder in Oklahoma is death, life without parole, or life in prison.
Contributing to delinquency of a minor / involving a minor in drug crimes (21 O.S. § 856 & § 856.1)
Oklahoma law prohibits knowingly or willfully causing, aiding, abetting, or encouraging a minor to become delinquent, a runaway, or to participate in drug-related crimes. These offenses carry serious penalties and can be applied alongside other charges.
Our requests to authorities
1. Immediately complete and confirm a full investigation into London’s death, including all the evidence supplied to you by the family and by tracing the source of the methamphetamine that killed her.
2. Seek arrest warrants and file charges against Brayden Brown and Jose Minjares with the evidence supplied to you that establishes probable cause that they furnished, dispensed, or facilitated controlled substances to London or used controlled substances with her, and her death resulted from such conduct.
63 O.S. § 2-401(E) — supplying controlled substances to a minor
21 O.S. § 701.7(B) — first-degree murder when death results from unlawful drug distribution
21 O.S. § 856 / § 856.1 — contributing to delinquency of a minor / involving a minor in drug-related crimes
3. Provide transparent communication with London’s family and the communities of Texas County, Beaver County, and Woodward County, about the investigative steps taken and charges pursued.
Why this matters
No family should lose a child to illegal drugs. When adults supply or use dangerous controlled substances with minors—and a child dies—Oklahoma law requires strong consequences. Applying the law fairly and consistently honors London’s life and helps prevent more families from experiencing this pain.
