Petition for John Henry to sell the Red Sox

The Issue

Change is needed-nay OWED to the city of Boston and its fan base. John Henry is just Andy getting tired of Woody (Red Sox) and doesn’t want to play with them anymore. He has graduated to other things (some of which he also neglects) and treats the Sox as an allowance to line his pockets.

Johnny doesn’t care about winning championships anymore, he’s switched sports. Sure, he put the pieces together that helped end the drought, but in his mind he finished his job and knows that he can sell tickets in Major League Baseball’s oldest stadium no matter what. He’s coasting off of Boston’s history and tourism, basically profiting off of our founding fathers to fund his little Liverpool thing. Did Dr. Joseph Warren die for John Henry to make money off of Americans to help the British? I don’t think so.

We deserve change. We love the Red Sox. I’m not asking for a championship every year, I just want some effort. Money is tighter than ever for every fan, and we go to the most expensive stadium in the league to watch a lackluster team overperform and flirt with wild card contention. Thats the bare minimum. The bare minimum is what would get us fired from our jobs, so I’d like to show that the best fans in baseball would like to fire John Henry.

Personally, I’d love the citizens of Boston to buy the team but that isn’t a realistic expectation. I want an engaged owner, not someone who is more concerned with their new little shiny project when they own a diamond they treat as an asset. If you’re passionate about what you do, the money comes. Our boy is greedy.
