Petition for Improved Street Lighting in The Reserve at Franconia

Petition for Improved Street Lighting in The Reserve at Franconia
The Issue
We, the residents of The Reserve at Franconia, are submitting this petition to request immediate action toward the installation of additional and improved street lighting throughout our neighborhood.
While the current lighting may technically meet minimum requirements, it does not meet the real-life safety needs of our community. Our neighborhood includes young families, children, seniors, and individuals who regularly walk or commute during the early mornings and evenings — times when the streets are often inadequately lit, making it difficult to feel safe or be seen.
This is no longer a theoretical concern. On November 13, 2025, at approximately 6:00 PM, a robbery occurred in our neighborhood. In addition, suspicious vehicles have been observed parked in dark, poorly lit areas, where their activity is difficult to monitor. These issues have caused widespread concern and diminished our sense of safety and peace of mind.
At this time, it is unclear whether the responsibility for adequate lighting falls to Franconia Township, Pulte Homes, or our Homeowners’ Association, First Service Residential — but the need for resolution is urgent.
Through this petition, we are calling on all three parties to investigate, coordinate, and take swift corrective action to resolve the lighting deficiencies in The Reserve at Franconia.
We believe that improving our neighborhood’s lighting will
- Enhance visibility for pedestrians, drivers, and resident.
- Deter suspicious or criminal activity
- Provide a safer, more welcoming environment for all
- Restore a sense of safety, especially after the recent crime
We, the undersigned, urge Franconia Township, Pulte Homes, and First Service Residential to treat this as a public safety priority and work together to implement lighting improvements immediately.
