We, the undersigned parents and guardians of students at Leigh Stationers Primary Academy, are deeply concerned about the current safety of our school grounds. Recent incidents in the surrounding area have made it increasingly worrying to know that the school is not as secure as it should be.

It is vital that the safety of students and staff is prioritised. We strongly believe that measures need to be put in place to make the premises more secure — including ensuring that gates close and lock properly, and that access to school grounds is limited and monitored at all times.

At present, it seems far too easy for individuals to enter the grounds without challenge, which is extremely concerning given current circumstances. Implementing stronger security measures would provide peace of mind for parents, students, and staff alike, and help ensure that everyone on site is protected.

We respectfully request that this matter be addressed as a matter of urgency and that the school provide an update to families regarding the steps being taken to improve safety and prevent unauthorised access.

To ensure that every child, educator, and staff member at Leigh Stationers Primary Academy is protected, supported, and able to learn in a safe, nurturing environment.

We urge school leadership and the district to take immediate and transparent steps toward these improvements. Safety should never be secondary—it should be the foundation of every child’s education.
