PETITION FOR IMMEDIATE SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS AT THE BOUNDARY AT WEST END
We, the residents of this apartment community, are requesting immediate action regarding the ongoing security issues that have affected our building for months.
Many of us are college students who work late, attend evening classes, study off campus, and regularly return home after dark. Because our apartment is located downtown and experiences a lot of activity at night, building security is especially important. We pay a significant amount to live in a building that is advertised as secure, yet many residents no longer feel safe coming home due to ongoing issues with broken gates, unlocked doors, limited security coverage, and a lack of security cameras.
For months, multiple doors and gates throughout the property, including the parking garage gate, have not locked properly. Despite repeated complaints from residents, these issues have continued without a permanent solution. As a result, non-residents have been able to enter and access areas that should be restricted to residents only.
These are not isolated incidents. Residents have repeatedly raised concerns about unauthorized individuals entering the building, and some residents have even had to contact law enforcement due to security-related situations occurring inside the property. No resident should feel unsafe in their own home because basic security measures are not being maintained.
There are currently no security cameras in the hallways and limited surveillance throughout the parking garage. Additional cameras would help improve resident safety, deter unauthorized activity, and provide accountability when incidents occur.
We are also requesting an increased security presence throughout the property. Currently, security is only on-site Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 PM to 3:00 AM. Residents would like to see security coverage expanded to more days throughout the week and for longer hours. Because the leasing office closes at 5:00 PM on weekdays and is closed on weekends, many residents feel there is limited support available during the times when security concerns are most likely to occur.
We respectfully request that property management take immediate action to:
• Repair all broken doors, gates, and building access points
• Install security cameras in hallways, elevators, entryways, and the parking garage
• Increase security guard coverage by adding more days and longer hours throughout the week
• Improve building access control to prevent unauthorized individuals from entering resident-only areas
• Provide residents with a clear timeline for when these issues will be addressed
As a student-focused apartment community, many of the residents at The Boundary are college students. However, being students does not make our concerns any less important. We pay rent, work jobs, attend classes, and call this building our home. We deserve to be treated with the same respect and consideration as any other residents. Our concerns about safety and security should be taken seriously, and every resident has the right to feel safe where they live.
We are not asking for anything unreasonable. We simply want to feel safe in the place we pay to live. These security issues have been ongoing for months, and many residents are frustrated that they still have not been properly addressed. By signing this petition, you are showing your support for stronger security measures and asking management to take action to make our building safer for everyone who lives here.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
