Residents are paying into a system that many feel operates with little accountability, limited oversight, and growing concerns about how members of the public are treated. Taxpayers deserve transparency, professionalism, and responses when concerns are raised. That should be the bare minimum.
Ask yourself this: what are taxpayers actually paying for if concerns can be ignored and questions go unanswered? It may not affect you today, but there could come a day when you need assistance and expect support from the very system your tax dollars fund.
We have documentation of concerns being raised regarding interactions involving Director Jennifer Hutchins and multiple emails sent to Jim Rivers requesting accountability and responses. According to our records and experiences, those concerns were not addressed and multiple emails went unanswered.
Leadership matters. Communities deserve leaders who listen, communicate, and take concerns seriously. Taxpayers should never feel unheard, dismissed, or left questioning whether the people entrusted to serve them are truly serving their communities.
Silence does not build trust. Accountability does.
