PETITION FOR GMA 7 AND TAPE INC. TO STOP USING "EAT BULAGA" AND GIVE THIS TITLE TO TVJ

PETITION FOR GMA 7 AND TAPE INC. TO STOP USING "EAT BULAGA" AND GIVE THIS TITLE TO TVJ
The Issue
Dear TAPE Inc., GMA 7, the Jalosjos Family, and all concerned parties,
We, the undersigned, are dedicated fans and supporters of the long-standing and iconic television show, Eat Bulaga. We write this petition to express our concerns and advocate for the preservation of the show's legacy, urging TAPE Inc., GMA 7, and the Jalosjos Family to respect the history and originality of Eat Bulaga.
Eat Bulaga has become an integral part of Filipino culture, captivating audiences for the past 43 years with its unique brand of entertainment, fostering a sense of joy, laughter, and camaraderie. The show has continually showcased innovative segments, providing not only entertainment but also platforms for social awareness, charity work, and the discovery of new talents.
Recently, we have observed that TAPE Inc., in collaboration with GMA 7, has been using the name "Eat Bulaga" for a noontime show that seems to borrow heavily from the original program. Additionally, the segments originally credited to Ms. Jenny Ferre, such as Pinoy Henyo and All for Juan, Juan for All, have been replicated under different titles like Word of the Rings and G sa Gedli, respectively.
While we understand the need for creativity and adaptation in the ever-evolving landscape of television, we believe it is essential to pay homage to the creators and original contributors of such iconic segments. By continuing to use the name "Eat Bulaga" and replicating its most beloved segments without proper acknowledgement, it diminishes the unique essence and longstanding history associated with the show.
We also appeal to the Jalosjos Family to consider allowing Vicente Sotto III, Marvic Sotto, and Jose Ma. De Leon to use the title "Eat Bulaga" for their noontime show airing on TV5. This request is not intended to undermine the current show's existence, but rather to provide an opportunity for the original creators to continue their legacy in a way that is respectful and true to the show's identity.
We, the undersigned, respectfully request the following actions:
- TAPE Inc. and GMA 7 to discontinue using the name "Eat Bulaga" for their current noontime show and instead explore fresh ideas and concepts that honor their own creativity.
- The Jalosjos Family to consider granting permission for Vicente Sotto III, Marvic Sotto, and Jose Ma. De Leon to use the title "Eat Bulaga" for their noontime show airing on TV5, allowing them to carry on the genuine spirit of the original program.
- TAPE Inc., GMA 7, and all concerned parties to give due recognition and credit to Ms. Jenny Ferre for her contributions to the creation of iconic segments like Pinoy Henyo and All for Juan, Juan for All.
By signing this petition, we stand together as passionate supporters of the original Eat Bulaga, urging all parties involved to uphold the integrity and legacy of the show while providing opportunities for the original creators to continue their remarkable contributions.
We believe that through our collective voices, we can foster a respectful environment within the industry and ensure the preservation of cultural icons like Eat Bulaga for generations to come.
Sincerely yours,
Legit Dabarkads of the Original Eat Bulaga
