Petition for Election Integrity and Puerto Rico Federal Voting Rights

The Issue

To: The United States Senate and Speaker of the House.

We, the undersigned, petition the United States Senate and House Representatives to take action on two important issues related to federal elections:

Support and enact legislation to reinforce the ban on illegal immigrants voting in federal elections.
Grant full federal voting rights to U.S. citizens residing in Puerto Rico.
WHEREAS:

The integrity of our federal elections is paramount to maintaining a strong republic.
The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 1819, also known as H.R. 4460, titled the "American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act," which aims to reinforce the existing ban on illegal immigrants voting in federal elections and enhance overall election integrity.
Additionally, the "NO VOTE for Non-Citizens Act of 2023" has been introduced to further strengthen prohibitions against non-citizen voting in federal elections.
There are concerns that these bills may face opposition or a potential veto, which some interpret as an attempt to weaken restrictions on illegal immigrant voting in federal elections.
The issue of illegal immigrant voting in federal elections is a matter of significant public concern and debate.
Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the United States, and its residents are U.S. citizens by birth.
Despite their citizenship, residents of Puerto Rico are currently unable to vote in U.S. presidential elections and do not have voting representation in the U.S. Congress.
THEREFORE, we urge the United States Senate and the President to:

Support, pass, and sign into law the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act (H.R. 1819/H.R. 4460) and the NO VOTE for Non-Citizens Act of 2023 to reinforce the ban on illegal immigrant voting in federal elections and enhance overall election integrity.
Provide a clear explanation to the American public regarding the administration's stance on illegal immigrant voting in federal elections and the proposed election integrity measures.
Oppose any efforts that might lead to illegal immigrants voting in federal elections.
Propose and support legislation or constitutional amendments necessary to grant full federal voting rights to U.S. citizens residing in Puerto Rico.
Consider options such as statehood for Puerto Rico or a constitutional amendment that would allow its residents to vote in federal elections while maintaining its current status.
Ensure that any solution respects the will of the Puerto Rican people and maintains their cultural identity.
Act with urgency to address these important issues affecting the integrity of our elections and the voting rights of U.S. citizens in Puerto Rico.
By signing this petition, we affirm our belief in maintaining the integrity of federal elections, the importance of citizen-only voting in federal elections, and the fundamental right of all U.S. citizens to participate fully in the democratic process, regardless of their place of residence within U.S. territory.
