As a student at MME, I’ve seen that on a daily basis, students are served lunches that are low quality and have  excessive packaging. If there are 3 lunch periods a day, imagine how much plastic waste there is after only one week! I have talked to Ms. LaGrange, the head of the school lunches here at MME. While she and the other staff in the cafeteria are doing everything they can to provide healthy, sustainable lunches, there is a budget they need to follow.

According to Environment America, Public schools in the United States produce over 14,500 tons of waste every day, and a lot of that comes from the cafeteria. Our school contributes to this statistic with all the packaging that accompanies the lunch and breakfast. By signing this petition, you're advocating for healthier and less-packaged school lunch and breakfast in Minnetonka elementary, middle, and high schools. Make your voice heard!
