We are calling on the China Spring ISD administration and School Board to take immediate action regarding the disturbing social media post that compared a Black adolescent student-athlete to a degrading racial caricature under the caption, “Spot the difference.”

This is not harmless trash talk or school rivalry. It is the racial targeting and humiliation of a child. Content like this can cause significant social, emotional, and psychological harm and has no place in high school athletics.

This incident also raises concerns about other content previously published by the “cshs.barstool” account and whether it reflects a broader pattern of inappropriate or discriminatory conduct.

UIL athletics are built on sportsmanship, respect, and positive relationships between competitors. This post represents the opposite of those values.

We call on China Spring ISD to:

1) Publicly condemn the post and the racial targeting of this student-athlete.
2) Conduct a thorough investigation of the “cshs.barstool” account and identify all individuals responsible for creating, submitting, approving, or distributing this content.
3) Hold anyone involved accountable under district policy and applicable UIL rules, including pursuing the strongest appropriate disciplinary action available.
4) Clearly communicate that racism and racial harassment will not be tolerated in connection with China Spring ISD athletics.

We call on China Spring ISD leadership to act now. Condemn this conduct, identify those responsible, and ensure meaningful accountability. Our children deserve nothing less.
