According to some maps, Wood Nook is the area effectively enclosed by Stanningley Bypass, New Pudsey Station car park, Owlcotes Shopping Centre car park, and the footpath by the side of the rail line connecting New Pudsey Station and Leeds.

It includes hundreds of lovely trees of a variety of types, many probably near or over 40ft tall.  It is a haven for wildlife, and appears to a large extent to have rewilded itself.  

The wood forms a beautiful and therapeutic breaking space between busy roads and car parks, with due to the height of many of the trees, some of them visible from street level over rooftops.  Wood Nook makes a huge contribution to the quality of the local environment, and people's enjoyment of it.

It would be tragic to see Wood Nook's trees go.
