Petition For a Qiyam

The Issue

We, the members of this community, have not had a qiyam in so long, and there is a deep yearning for it—especially among our youth. These nights of prayer and reflection are not just about individual worship, but about coming together as a community, and they create a unique sense of brotherhood and unity. The youth, in particular, are craving this. When we gather for qiyam, it’s more than just prayer—it’s a time for the youth to bond, strengthen their faith, and support one another in worship. It fosters a sense of belonging and solidarity that is hard to find elsewhere.

Unfortunately, our masajid are not providing these opportunities, and as a result, many of our youth feel disconnected. They need more than just daily prayers—they need moments of collective worship that bring them closer to Allah and to one another. Qiyam does just that. It unites us, builds brotherhood, and helps us grow spiritually, together.

We are calling on our masajid to listen to the needs of the community and to create spaces for these important gatherings. The time is now to bring back qiyam, to strengthen the bonds among us, and to give our youth the opportunity for spiritual renewal and connection.
