A female told James Cooper, a 23-year-old Wisconsin native that doctors had told her that she only had one month left to live. She asked James to drive her to Mississippi so she could spend her final days with her family. James did this and in less than two weeks, he was tragically found hanging from a pole.

The chain of events leading to James's demise is riddled with troubling inconsistencies and questionable actions:

Last Moments with girlfriend: James was last seen walking out the backdoor of the apartment where he was living, following a disagreement with his girlfriend on May 8th, 2023.

Misleading Statements: A witness has come forward saying that when they went to this girlfriend and expressed their concern that James was missing, the girlfriend assured them that she had spoken to James’ mother and that she had said that James had supposedly texted his mother, claiming to be in the woods by water with his duffel bag planning to end his own life. However, this was later revealed to be a falsehood, as there was no communication between this girlfriend and James's mother until after James body was found.

Discovery of the Body: Two days later, James was discovered hanging from a pole and with nothing around for him to step on to get up the pole to hang himself, in line with the location of where the girlfriend had previously mentioned. Suspicion also arises from her refusal to provide James's mother's contact information during his absence and even after his tragic death.

Questionable Investigative Handling: The Investigators swiftly ruled James's death as a suicide, despite the existence of concerning contradictions in the case. This conclusion was reached the day he was found. And after interviewing the girlfriend and her mother that is what they stuck to. The medical examiner agree and only did a visual autopsy.

James's Demeanor: It is crucial to note that James exhibited no signs of being suicidal. He had plans for that very day, including obtaining his ID, and had secured a new job, a haircut appointment for the next day, and plans to move into his own apartment later that week. 

Inconsistent Evidence: James was discovered with cords of wire wrapped around his neck, similar to those found on telephone poles. The method of binding, the type of wire, and the position in which he was found in a sitting manner on the ground rather than hanging, all point to suspicious circumstances. It is highly improbable that an individual, could have accomplished this act alone.

There is actually more evidence of foul play that we can not reveal at this time.

James's untimely and suspicious death has left us with grave concerns. We believe that a comprehensive, transparent, and impartial investigation is required to uncover the truth and deliver justice to James and his grieving family.

This petition demands the following actions:

Federal Investigation: We call for a Federal investigation into the circumstances of James Cooper's death, which should include a thorough examination of the local Sheriff’s conduct, as well as the legitimacy and qualifications of the medical examiner involved.

Accountability: All parties involved in this case, including the alleged girlfriend and any others connected to this tragedy, should be held accountable for their actions or omissions. This will send a resounding message that such crimes will not go unpunished, ensuring that potential wrongdoers are not emboldened by the lack of justice.

We insist on a full and impartial investigation into the troubling circumstances surrounding James Cooper's death to ensure that justice is served and the truth prevails. We must not ignore this tragic event and must do all in our power to bring those responsible to account.
