The Issue

Parents, parishioners and supporters of Divine Mercy Family of Parishes are requesting the resignation of Father Don Siciliano. We urge you to review and sign it. Please sign with your first and last names; anonymous signatures will not be accepted.

Please sign by midnight on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
The petition will be sent to Father Don the week of August 4, 2025.

Key Reminders:

  • Please sign with your first and last names.
  • Please share this petition with anyone else who might be interested in supporting our goal.
  • Please do not donate money - all costs have been covered.

For the protection of our community, we will not provide a complete list of signatories to parish leadership. While we have received hundreds of verified names in a short period thus far, many individuals have expressed fear of retribution. In place of a full name list, a representative document will be submitted, listing each signatory as "Concerned Member of the Parish Community" (or similar neutral phrasing).
The petition will be updated to state that “A third party can be engaged to verify signatures if necessary. Due to fear of retaliation, names are being protected.”

Thank you for your prompt attention and support!

Dear Father Don Siciliano,

With heavy hearts and profound concern for our community, we, the parents, parishioners, and community supporters of the Divine Mercy Family of Parishes, are writing to you.

Our primary concern is the trust and moral authority essential for leading our parish. Nothing could have prepared our community for the divisiveness your leadership has caused. This visceral reaction is a direct result of the rhetoric you and the Archdiocese have chosen, which has labeled members of our community, like us, as "gossipers and rumor spreaders." This is unacceptable, and it will no longer be tolerated.

This situation isn't merely about an isolated mistake; it's about the broader implications for the trust within our community. As our faith teaches, there's a clear distinction between right and wrong, and leaders of our faith must exemplify the highest standards of integrity and responsibility.

Let us be clear to you, your leadership team, and all interested parties within the Archdiocese: this stops now. We firmly believe that what we tolerate today leads to acceptance tomorrow.

  • We no longer tolerate our family of parishes being overrun with a culture of malfeasance and a lack of accountability.
  • We no longer tolerate our friends and neighbors being labeled sinners for simply asking questions and demanding accountability.
  • We no longer tolerate parish employees and parish council members being afraid to speak out for fear of being labeled disloyal or in violation of a parish NDA.
  • We no longer tolerate people using the word "sides" to describe families who may be on different paths of their spiritual journey.

We will become a strong family of parishes, but we cannot do so with you as our leader. In our opinion, you must step down to allow our parish communities to move forward. Your actions and poor communication disqualify you from leadership, and we no longer have confidence in your abilities.

The ongoing lack of direct communication and reassurance from both you and the Archdiocese has only intensified our concerns. Many of us have reached out for guidance and support, only to be met with silence. This has left us feeling unheard and undervalued, shaking our faith not only in local leadership but also in the broader structures of our Church.

We believe that for the unity and peace of our parish to be restored, a change in leadership is necessary. It is with this belief that we respectfully request your RESIGNATION from your position at the Divine Mercy Family of Parishes. This request is made out of love for our community and a deep desire to protect the well-being of our children and the integrity of our parish.

We understand the difficulty and pain this situation brings, and we do not make this request lightly. Our sincere hope is that a new leader can bring the healing and renewal our parish so desperately needs.

We extend our gratitude for your understanding and immediate action regarding our request for your resignation, trusting in God's plan for us all.

Sincerely,

Parents, Parishioners and Supporters of Divine Mercy Family of Parishes
