Advisory Board -Liberty Crossing

The Issue

The HOA for Liberty Crossing in Braselton, Georgia  is controlled by Walton LLC and managed by Beacon Management Services.  The only voice the homeowners of Liberty Crossing have is through an Advisory Committee that was developed several years ago. A large percentage of the homes in this development were not even built when this committee was formed and the homeowners have little to no input into the decisions or direction of this committee as representatives of our community. Since the formation of this committee the primary members have not changed and the addition of new members is made at the sole discretion of the committee. With accountability only to Beacon Management the individuals on this committee are empowered to enforce select rules or target individuals with whom they may have personal conflict. As the community has grown the Advisory Committee is no longer in a position to represent the growing needs of the current homeowners in Liberty Crossings. We need an advisory committee that will help create a culture that invites and encourages more community input and involvement, values and respects every family, and creates open communication regarding the rules and bi-laws of the community.

By signing this petition, we are asking for Beacon Management Services to immediately dissolve the current advisory committee and develop a new advisory committee from the Homeowners of Liberty Crossing. We also recommend a policy be adopted once a new Advisory Committee is established that requires each member to serve a maximum of 2 year before rotating off for a minimum of 2 yrs. During the transition we would suggest 2 members from the current committee remain in order to maintain consistency in current projects. These two members would remain on the committee for a one year term. This will allow the flow of new ideas and prevent a repeat of the current issue that has created this problem.
