Petition Against Wesley's Re-Opening As A Bar

Petition Against Wesley's Re-Opening As A Bar
The Issue
Our neighborhood stands at a critical juncture. Across the highway, adjacent to our backyards, lies Wesley's—a building that used to operate with unwanted disturbances, including fights and gunshots that pierced through the serenity of our nights. Those of us who reside in this area cherish the safety and tranquility it offers, especially for our children, young families, and the older couples who have made this place their home. The prospect of Wesley's being opened again for alcohol consumption threatens the peace of our beloved community.
Wesley's location is not suitable for a bar of any kind. It directly faces the residential area and could significantly undermine the peaceful, family-oriented atmosphere that we have worked to cultivate and maintain. Previous incidents during the days Wesley's operated only reinforce the dangers and disruptions we could face if this rezoning is allowed.
The area is filled with families who should not have to worry about late-night disturbances or the influence such an establishment could have on our neighborhood's children. Our community thrives on the values of safety, respect, and unity—not the potential hazards associated with a bar of any kind.
We're not opposing businesses or economic growth; we are asserting that Wesley's location is not appropriate for such a transformation. There are other areas better suited for alcohol consumption that do not pose risks to family-focused communities.
We urge the city planners and zoning officials to understand the impact this change would have on our lives—children deserve safe streets to play, residents deserve peaceful nights, and our community deserves to have its voice heard in decisions that affect its future.
Support us in preserving the safety and integrity of our neighborhood. Help us ensure that Wesley's is not re-zoned for adult entertainment. Please sign this petition and stand with your neighbors to protect the future of our community.
